Covered thoroughly in the material, evil flourishes because people are ignorant of its existance and the functions that produce it.  They’re often indifferent to things that don’t impact their immediate circumstances, and often ignorant of how they contribute to the circumstances of others.  They cannot correct their ignorance because they are biased in the maintainance of their perspective.  People want what they think the world is to be what the world is, because it is this perspective that allows them to feel good doing the things they do.  They consume information that reinforces their beliefs and avoid, ignore, and reject information that challenges their beliefs.  This reinforces the ignorance and indifference inherent to their perspectives.   

The artwork symbolically is as follows.  She weeps because there is evil in the world.  Her eyes are closed representing ignorance in what she doesn’t see, as well as indifference to what she doesn’t know she should be concerned with.  On her tounge is a smilely face where she chases feelings that she does not understand that make her feel good, which produces her ignorance because her attention is only drawn to familar objectives.  And the tunneling of motivation to familar and simple stimulation produces indifference as she is blind to the world around her.
